Promoting unity, youth empowerment, and positive change through sport and community engagement.
On 14 October 2026, Al Ansaar Outreach and Al Ansaar Radio proudly hosted the Ubunye Soccer Tournament. We collaborated closely with the South African Police Service (SAPS) at the Asherville Grounds. This exciting initiative brought together young players, participating schools, guests, and staff. Everyone enjoyed a truly memorable day centered on sport, community spirit, and positive social change.

The event gave young people a fantastic opportunity to showcase their sporting talents. Furthermore, the games actively promoted teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship. Beyond the on-field excitement, the event highlighted a crucial underlying message. We must create safe and supportive environments where young people can thrive and make positive life choices.
We share a strong commitment to building safer communities. Therefore, this initiative also focused on raising awareness about serious social issues. We tackled the dangers of substance abuse, bullying, and racism. Through the power of sport, the tournament encouraged participants to embrace diversity. We urged everyone to stand against discrimination and recognize the immense value of mutual respect and unity.
Spreading Care Beyond the Field at the Ubunye Soccer Tournament

As part of the day’s activities, our outreach and radio teams came together. We provided delicious refreshments to the players, guests, and staff in attendance. Our dedicated team distributed freshly prepared meals, apples, oranges, and bottled water throughout the event. Consequently, everyone present enjoyed a healthy meal while participating in the tournament.

This gesture perfectly reflects Al Ansaar’s ongoing commitment to serving the community. We demonstrate care through practical, hands-on acts of kindness. By providing vital nourishment, our teams helped create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for everyone involved.
Taking Community Voices to the Airwaves
Adding to the day’s excitement, Al Ansaar Radio broadcast live directly from the tournament grounds. We brought the vibrant atmosphere and energy of the event to listeners everywhere.
This live broadcast offered a unique opportunity to showcase the games. Moreover, we highlighted the critical importance of youth development to a much wider audience. The broadcast also demonstrated the vital role of community radio. We actively connect people, amplify positive initiatives, and raise awareness about pressing societal issues.
Ultimately, the presence of both Al Ansaar Outreach and Al Ansaar Radio highlighted a powerful synergy. Community development and media can work together beautifully to create meaningful engagement and inspire positive action.
Building a Brighter Future Together

The Ubunye Soccer Tournament served as a powerful reminder. Sport involves much more than simple competition and winning trophies. It acts as a powerful tool for bringing people together and developing individual confidence. Furthermore, sport encourages healthy lifestyles and instills core values that young people carry into their everyday lives.
Through our strong collaboration with SAPS, Al Ansaar reaffirmed the importance of community partnerships. We actively prioritize youth empowerment, community safety, and social cohesion.
The success of such initiatives lies entirely in our collective efforts. Organizations, schools, staff, participants, and community members all share a clear vision of a safer, united society. Al Ansaar remains deeply committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families. Together, through dedicated service, awareness, and community partnership, we will continue to inspire positive change.
We want to extend a special thank you to the local market produce vendors for sponsoring the fresh fruits. We also thank SAPS for including us in this vital initiative. Finally, a massive thank you goes to our incredible team for always supporting and coming together for these events.
One community. One goal. One future.
