The spirit of giving was alive and glowing at the PMB Children’s Home in Woodlands today, as Al Ansaar PMB brought warmth, joy, and heartfelt connection to over 80 children through their Winter Drive Outreach.
Organised by Hudaa Ahmed, in collaboration with the home’s director Fiona, the day was a celebration of community care and compassion — with something special at every turn.
From the moment the event began, the energy was palpable. The children were greeted with gift bags filled with winter clothing, including gloves, scarves, and warm accessories. Each child also received a cosy winter blanket, made possible by generous community sponsors. To top it all off, delicious snacks and sweet treats were handed out, ensuring that the day was as comforting as it was fun.
A highlight of the day was the visit by Mehreen Mia, who read a touching short story that captured the hearts of children and adults alike. She followed it with gentle, encouraging words directed at those who find the holiday period difficult — especially those without close family around them. Her message of resilience and faith offered a quiet moment of strength and reflection amid the festivities.
The children were also invited to take part in an interactive poster activity, where they decorated a large canvas with handprints and messages. In the centre, bold letters read: “We ♥ Al Ansaar PMB” — a touching expression of appreciation and togetherness.
Laughter echoed across the grounds as the children enjoyed a jumping castle, bringing joy, movement, and much-needed release. For many, it was the first time in weeks they had such a carefree experience.
The success of the event was a result of hands-on collaboration, thoughtful planning, and community generosity. Hudaa Ahmed, reflecting on the day, said: “Our goal was to make each child feel seen, valued, and warm — not just physically, but emotionally too. Today was proof that even small gestures can create lasting memories.”
The Winter Drive at the PMB Children’s Home wasn’t just about delivering goods — it was about delivering hope. And judging by the smiles, laughter, and heartfelt hugs, that goal was achieved in full.
