The South African Police Service in KwaZulu‑Natal arrested 10,872 individuals over the past month during a major crime-fighting operation across identified hotspots. The arrests included 3,278 for contact crimes (197 for murder and 1,559 for GBH), 207 for rape-related offences, 229 for weapons charges, and 1,856 for drug-related crimes. Police also detained 554 individuals for driving under the influence and apprehended 869 undocumented migrants. Authorities say the crackdown targets rising crime and will continue through the winter holiday season
2. Traffic Delays Reported Across KZN Networks
Motorists on the N2 from Port Shepstone to Kokstad are facing an eight-minute delay this morning. Minor hold-ups (1–3 minutes) also occur on the M1 (Durban–Queensburgh), R102 (Amanzimtoti–Port Shepstone), R603, and R620 routes.
