Al Ansaar Radio’s Pietermaritzburg team successfully carried out a large-scale haleem distribution on Saturday, extending support to both the local community and residents in a nearby low-income area.
Under the banner of The Pulse show hosted by Shubnum Ismail, a group of volunteers travelled to a rural community to distribute haleem to residents in need. The outreach formed part of a broader effort to ensure that those in underserved areas are also reached through Al Ansaar’s community initiatives.
Shubnum Ismail, together with members of the Pietermaritzburg team and volunteers, engaged directly with residents while distributing the meals. The initiative was warmly received by the community, with many expressing appreciation for the support and the spirit of compassion shown by the team.
At the same time, a parallel haleem distribution was taking place at the Al Ansaar Radio Pietermaritzburg office on Ohrtmann Road. The distribution was coordinated by Hudaa Ahmed together with the PMB team and volunteers, ensuring that members of the public could collect their haleem in a smooth and organised manner.
Those arriving at the office were able to remain comfortably in their vehicles while volunteers assisted with the distribution, helping to create an efficient and welcoming environment for the public.
The dual initiative highlights Al Ansaar’s ongoing commitment to serving communities through meaningful outreach — both by reaching vulnerable areas directly and by providing accessible distribution points within the city.
The Pietermaritzburg team extended sincere appreciation to all volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to make the initiative a success. Special thanks were also conveyed to the sponsors, Capital Group, whose generous support made the haleem distributions possible.
