Kaizer Chiefs Soccer players’ club are reportedly considering an exit strategy for Mduduzi Mdantsane. The 30-year-old, still on AmaKhosi’s books, is on loan to Magesi but will return to Naturena as soon as the season concludes. According to reports, Sekhukhune United are watching the situation closely. “Sekhukhune United could have the advantage of signing (Mdu) Mdantsane because Kaizer Chiefs are looking at either loaning him out or to releasing him permanently with his contract remaining with one year on it and this could give Seckukhune United the chance to sign him.” This was confirmed by SoccerLaduma.
“Yes, they are priotising Fiston Mayele but they don’t want to be caught off guard if things don’t work out with him and that’s why they are reigniting the interest in [Fagrie] Lakay. “You remember they have been interested in him for some time now? They are just waiting for that chance to sign him. And this could be the right time to do so for the club.”
The business of professional soccer is highly competitive but does focus on ethics to ensure the game remains clean in the public eyes. Mduduzi Mdantsane is a highly talented player capable of reaching great heights in his career. The demand for his calibre is excessive. Those who play soccer as a professional career are made of sterner material. The talent, dedication, and stamina needed exhibits strong persona and athletics. The matter ahead is that when a contract for an ambitious soccer player expires, the club needs to figure out how to benefit from his departure. They will allow the player to spread his wings by assisting him to find other clubs abroad that can pay handsomely. In return the player can test the limits of his ability.
Coaching a professional soccer team comes with stress. Sekhukhune United Coach Eric Tinkler a former professional player himself lost his temper after a 1-1 draw with TS Galaxy on Sunday in the South African Premiership.
He lamented dropping two points in Soweto as third-placed United chase qualification for the 2025/2026 CAF Confederation Cup. “This should have been the easiest of our remaining five league fixures,” said Tinkler, a midfielder when South Africa hosted and won the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations. “I was counting on three points from this match before tougher ones that lie ahead, starting with a visit to (second-placed) Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.” Nigerian Chibuike Ohizu scored his fifth Premiership goal of the campaign by tapping the ball into the net at the far post on 65 minutes to put visiting Sekhukhune ahead. But the lead lasted only five minutes before Kamogelo Sebelebele connected with a cross and his looping shot flew over goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner into the net to earn fifth-placed Galaxy a point.
Sekhukhune have 41 points as they seek a third consecutive appearance in the Confederation Cup, the African equivalent of the Uefa Europa League.
The pressure to focus on winning is coupled with the intensity of displaying your full talent. Over confidence too has its part to play. Tinkler as a coach of a top professional team would have to deal with a lot of anxiety in terms of practice and training up to the match. It was going to be either a win or a loss. Sekhukhune United was definitely convinced of victory due to having won the previous matches. Sekhukhune United was going to have it tough against TS Galaxy in the soccer match. Scoring the winning goal in professional soccer is no simple task. The skill displayed by Sebelebele in scoring that goal was a classic that took the pitch by storm. Tinkler’s team should have kept its guard up, but that alone would not save it.
None the less both teams displayed extraordinary prowess during the game. Sekhukhune team has proven itself a tough nut to crack. Only time will tell it can stay in the CAF Confederation Cup.
