By Al-Ansaar Outreach

Thursday, 22 October 2026 — In a heartwarming display of community care, Al Ansaar Outreach, in collaboration with the Cancer Support Group, visited the oncology wards at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital to spread kindness, offer comfort, and bring moments of joy to young patients and their families.
Bringing Warmth and Smiles to the Oncology Wards
During the morning visit, the outreach team engaged with children currently undergoing cancer treatment, their devoted mothers, and the nursing staff who provide round-the-clock medical care.
To provide practical relief and encouragement, the team distributed:
- Fresh Fruit Goodie Packs: Offering healthy snacks to children and mothers enduring long hospital stays.
- Warm Blankets: Providing physical comfort and warmth to young patients undergoing challenging treatments.
- Tokens of Appreciation: Expressing gratitude to the frontline healthcare workers and nurses for their selflessness.
Community Care in Times of Need
Navigating a cancer diagnosis is an incredibly taxing journey for both patients and their loved ones. Through these small yet impactful gestures, the initiative sought to remind families that they do not walk this path alone.
Extending Gratitude: Al Ansaar Outreach extends its sincere thanks to all donors, volunteers, and well-wishers whose generous contributions made this visit possible. Community partnerships continue to play an essential role in driving these upliftment programs across KwaZulu-Natal.
