Recipe for Khurri

Ingredients:

– 1 litre natural yoghurt
– 1 and half tblsp ghee
– 1 tsp cumin seeds
– half cup Nestlé dessert/cooking cream, stirred
– 2 medium sized tomatoes, grated
– 1 medium sized onion, chopped
– 1 tsp turmeric powder
– 2 tsp dhana jeero powder
– 2 tsp garlic paste
– 2 tsp ground green masala
– salt to taste
– curry leaves

Method:

1. Add yoghurt in a pot & bring to a boil. Stir to avoid the yoghurt from splitting. Remove from heat & leave aside.
2. Add cumin seed into a medium sized pot and heat until the seeds turn black in colour.
3. To the pot add
a few curry leaves, ghee & onions, and cook until the onions are golden.
4. Now add the tomatoes & cook for a few minutes. Do not let the moisture burn out completely.
5. Add the yoghurt & cream into the pot and whisk.
6. Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes.
7. Garnish with a sprig of curry leaves and serve hot with kitchdi/yellow rice & other delicious side dishes
