Joy and excitement filled the halls of Arthur Blaxall School on Thursday as learners received brand-new school shoes during a heartfelt outreach initiative hosted by Al Ansaar Foundation in partnership with Save Hyper.
The school, which supports blind and visually impaired learners, welcomed the initiative with gratitude as every learner received a new pair of school shoes – bringing comfort, confidence, and dignity to many children.
For many of the learners, the gesture meant far more than just a pair of shoes. It was a reminder that their community sees them, values them, and cares about their future.
Adding to the cheerful atmosphere, learners were also treated to snacks and goodies sponsored by Save Hyper, creating a memorable and uplifting experience for everyone involved.
One of the most touching moments of the day came when the learners gathered together to sing a song in appreciation to the sponsors and outreach teams. The heartfelt performance left many emotional and served as a powerful reminder of the impact that kindness and community support can have on young lives.
The outreach initiative was coordinated through the efforts of Hudaa Ahmed from Al Ansaar Foundation and Indren Pillay from Save Hyper, whose collaboration helped bring the project to life.
Special thanks were also extended to the Durban and Pietermaritzburg outreach teams for their support and contribution in making the initiative possible.
Representatives spent time interacting with learners and staff during the visit, with many describing the day as emotional, uplifting, and deeply meaningful.
At a time when many families continue to face financial pressure, initiatives such as these serve as an important reminder that even small acts of kindness can restore hope, confidence, and joy in a child’s life.
