Eid Shopping Experience Brings Smiles to Children at Nizamia Islamic School

Excitement and joy filled the hall at Nizamia Islamic School in Pietermaritzburg as children were treated to a special Eid shopping experience organised by Al Ansaar PMB.

Under the banner of School Matters with Sumayah Khan, the initiative invited less fortunate children to take part in a unique shopping-style event ahead of Eid, allowing them to select items they liked as they prepared for the upcoming celebration.

Instead of simply receiving clothing or gifts, the children were given the opportunity to browse through tables of items and choose what they preferred – creating an experience that closely resembled a real shopping outing.

To make the moment even more special, organisers set up a small checkout “till point”, allowing the children to complete the full shopping experience. The youngsters excitedly “paid” for their chosen items before receiving their Eid bags, adding a sense of fun and realism to the day.

The atmosphere inside the hall was filled with smiles and laughter as the children moved from table to table, selecting items and proudly carrying their bags.

The initiative aimed to ensure that every child could look forward to Eid with excitement and confidence, while also experiencing the joy of choosing something for themselves.

The event proved to be a heartwarming success, with many smiles lighting up the room and a strong sense of community spirit throughout the day.

Al Ansaar PMB expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the initiative possible, noting that acts of kindness such as these can make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

As Eid approaches, the children will now be able to celebrate feeling included, valued and excited -carrying with them the memories of a day filled with generosity and joy.
