Al Ansaar Outreach Honours Mandela Month Through Acts of Compassion

In the spirit of Nelson Mandela’s legacy of selfless service and compassion, the Al Ansaar Outreach Department, in partnership with the South African Police Service (SAPS), proudly carried out two meaningful outreach initiatives aimed at bringing hope and kindness to members of our community.

Our first Mandela Month project took place on 21 July at Manor Halfway House, where we spent the day with the elderly residents. Freshly prepared meals and refreshments were distributed, but beyond the food, the true gift was the time shared together. Laughter, conversations, and heartfelt moments filled the day, reminding us that companionship and human connection are among the greatest acts of kindness. We were also honoured to have the Radio Al Ansaar team join us, adding to the warmth and spirit of the occasion.

Our second outreach initiative was held on 23 July at St Philomena’s, where we had the privilege of serving the children. Fresh meals were distributed, and it was truly inspiring to witness the joy and excitement on their faces. Their smiles served as a beautiful reminder that even the simplest acts of generosity can leave a lasting impact.

These projects reflect Al Ansaar Outreach’s continued commitment to serving humanity with dignity, compassion, and sincerity. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the South African Police Service for partnering with us in making these initiatives a success. Together, we were able to honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela by demonstrating that meaningful change begins with serving others.

As we continue our outreach efforts, we pray that these acts of kindness inspire many more to give back to their communities, not only during Mandela Month but throughout the year.

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” — Nelson Mandela
