Women’s Day 2026: A Celebration of Women, Community & Giving

Women's Day 2026 Durban event Her Mask Her Story hosted by Al Ansaar

Celebrating Connection Empowerment and Giving Back

On Saturday, 8th August 2026, The Al Ansaar Outreach hosted a truly one-of-a-kind Women’s Day celebration, bringing women together for a day filled with connection, celebration, empowerment and community spirit.

The event took place from 09:00am to 02:30pm, and was a wonderful reflection of what can be achieved when a community comes together for a meaningful cause.

At the heart of the event was an important purpose: raising funds for the Slice of Life project, an initiative dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those in need. Every contribution and every person who played a role in the event helped bring us one step closer to making a greater impact through this important initiative.

Our Support Staff included the Al Ansaar Events Team, Al Ansaar Book and Media and Al Ansaar Deli, headed by Fathima Karim.

Our Finance Team, headed by Mr Ahmed Docrat, with M. Baaqir Cassim and Sabeeha Abdul Haq, ensured that the financial aspects of the event were handled with care and dedication.

Our Sales Team, Fatima Cassimjee and Shaheena Mahomed, played an important role in making the event a success.

Our Technical Team, headed by Nizam Mahomed, together with Zuha Sulaiman, Thobeka Njapha and Waseemah Bux, ensured that everything ran smoothly from a technical perspective.

We also extend our appreciation to our Maintenance Team, Rishaad Khan, Asma Maphumulo, Umar Gumede, Mahomed Wellington Mkhize and Shabeer Khan, whose hard work behind the scenes helped ensure that the venue was ready and well maintained throughout the event.

And of course, a special thank you to Shabeer Ally, our dedicated driver, who helped get our team where they needed to be throughout the event.

From the planning and coordination to bringing together partners, sponsors, service providers and internal teams, the dedication behind the scenes was instrumental in turning the vision for this Women’s Day celebration into reality.

While the event was a celebration of women, it was ultimately about something even greater: community, generosity and giving back.

The success of the event would not have been possible without every donor, sponsor, partner, service provider, staff member, presenter, volunteer and attendee who contributed towards making the day what it was.

To everyone who attended and supported us, thank you. Your presence, generosity and encouragement helped create an atmosphere that was truly unforgettable.

This Women’s Day was more than just an event. It was a beautiful reminder that when we come together, we can celebrate one another while simultaneously creating meaningful change in the lives of others.

From everyone at Al Ansaar, thank you for being part of a Women’s Day that was truly one of a kind.

Together, we celebrated women. Together, we supported our community. Together, we gave back.
