Topic: Recipes using flavoured milk powder. This delicious range of flavored milk powder is available from Murchisons Spices.
In each recipe use the flavoured milk powder to taste as it can be too sweet for some and just right for others.
Recipe: Melon milk ghas dessert
INGREDIENTS:
-1 litre milk
-6 tblsp Murchisons Spices Melon Quik milk powder mix
-4 tblsp sugar or sugar to taste
-4 tsp ghas powder
-1 cup water, at room temperature
METHOD:
1.Boil the water then add the ghas powder to the water and stir for 1 minute until completely dissolved. Leave aside.
2.In a pot, add the milk, melon flavoured milk powder and sugar then stir until well combined.
3.Heat but do not boil.
4.Remove from heat then add the ghas mixture and continue stirring.
5.Now pour into bowls or moulds and place in the fridge until set.
6.Decorate with cubes of fresh green melon or white chocolate shavings.
Recipe: Strawberry Flapjacks
INGREDIENTS:
-1 cup flour
-3 tblsp Murchisons Spices Strawberry Quik flavoured milk powder
-1 tblsp sugar
-1 tsp baking powder
-1 large egg
-³/⁴ cup water, at room temperature
METHOD:
1.In a bowl, whisk the egg then add the water, sugar, baking powder and the flavoured milk powder.
2.Gradually add the flour and beat until you get a smooth batter.
3.Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium to low heat then melt some butter.
4.Drop tablespoon fulls of the batter into the heated pan.
5.Turn over when cooked through and cook on the other side.
6.Serve warm with golden syrup or maple syrup. Garnish with berries.
Recipe: Iced Chocolate Milk Frappe
INGREDIENTS:
-2 cups milk
-4 tblsp of Murchisons Spices Chocolate Quik flavoured milk powder
-2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
-2 tsp instant coffee granules, optional
METHOD:
1.Add all the ingredients into a blender and whizz until creamy.
2.Pour into 2 tall clear glasses, add some whipped cream on top and sprinkle extra chocolate powder then serve immediately.
Recipe: Licorice white hot chocolate
INGREDIENTS:
-2 cups boiling hot milk
-2 tblsp of Murchisons Spices Licorice Quik flavoured milk powder
-60 gram plain white chocolate
-whipped cream for garnish, optional
METHOD:
1.Add the flavoured milk powder and the white chocolate into the hot milk allowing the chocolate to melt.
2.Pour into 2 mugs and serve hot. Optional: Top with whipped cream.
