IT’S ALL SYSTEMS GO FOR AFRICA TRAVEL INDABA 2026

President Cyril Ramaphosa is today expected to officially open the 2026 Africa’s Travel Indaba at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban.

Held under the theme, “Unlimited Africa: Growing Africa’s Tourism Economy”, the annual tourism showcase has brought together tourism stakeholders from across the continent, including investors, international tour operators, government leaders and buyers, with the aim of growing and strengthening Africa’s tourism sector.

Among those attending the high-profile event are Cyril Xaba, Patricia de Lille, Musa Zondi, and Francois Rogers.

The event is expected to showcase tourism investment opportunities across the African continent while further positioning Durban and KwaZulu-Natal as key players in the global tourism market.

In his opening remarks this morning, Mayor Xaba said tourism in KwaZulu-Natal continues to show positive growth, adding that collaboration among stakeholders remains critical in unlocking the sector’s full economic potential.

Xaba also highlighted the importance of tourism in driving economic development, job creation and investment in the province, while encouraging stronger partnerships between government and the private sector to ensure sustainable growth in the industry.

Africa’s Travel Indaba is regarded as one of the continent’s leading tourism marketing events and provides a platform for African destinations and tourism businesses to connect with global buyers and showcase their offerings.
