Recipe of the week:
South African Mielie Bread
INGREDIENTS:
-2 cups self-raising flour
-1 cup mielie meal
‐¹/² cup sugar -¹/² tsp salt
-1 cup milk
-1 large egg
-¹/⁴ cup melted butter
-1 can creamstyle sweetcorn
METHOD:
1.Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a loaf tin.
2.Mix dry ingredients.
3.Add milk, egg, melted butter, and cream style sweetcorn then mix well.
4.Pour the batter into the loaf tin and bake for 45-50 mins or until golden.
5.Leave to cool for 30 minutes before slicing.
ENJOY!!!
-Serve with butter or jam.
